Three Fools

26 April to 4 May 2019.

Company for this trip: G and C. As always, our trips start in Ho Chi Minh City then we head over to Da Lat. This time, C and I flew in earlier than G, and we checked in to our Airbnb after spending too long finding it.

Day 1

We spent some time out of the heat, chilling in our apartment then finally moving to the Reptile Cafe - Babo Coffee.

Then, I headed over to do my appointment (which we got lost 4 times) while C did his shopping, and we regrouped for dinner after, with T! We had the famous Bun Bo Hue then rushed over to the airport to meet G. Went to the bus station and we witness an angry man shouting at the staff (what he said at the bus station still remains a mystery till this day). Boarded the sleeper bus at 3am, and off we went!

Day 2

Waking up with Da Lat always brings peace, serenity and a certain form of cold that bites you awake. Nevertheless, we were so excited to be there! We sat in a coffee house for a bit because it was too early to check-in, then had some super yummy Banh Can and Banh Mi Xiu Mai. We then checked in to our beautiful loft, and went to The Dreamer Cafe to have some afternoon coffee.

When night time came round, we went over to Cho Dem where C decided to look through each piece in literally over 100 pieces of clothing. He picked some really good ones out and we bought so many things for such a good price. Thanks, C. As always, we ended our day at Ding Tea before heading back to our place.

Day 3

Goooood morning Banh Mi Xiu Mai. It was SO good. We went around having so much random food, I couldn't even tell you exactly what we bought. At night, we went over to play some bowling before heading back to sleep.

Day 4

G suggested for us to try the High Rope Elements at Datanla Falls, so C and I were game for it. It. Was. Excruciating. C had an open wound, which he slipped, fell and grazed it. I was stuck on some obstacle for a good 15 mins and swore I was close to death. Afterwards, we decided to enter Datanla Falls to have some ice cream and headed back to our apartment. We had dinner at An Cafe and began shopping round 2. Called it a day and went back to bed.

Day 5

GOOD MORNING BANH MI XIU MAI. After 2 days of unsuccessfully trying to make it on time for Banh Mi Xiu Mai, we finally made it there before 10am. A yummy breakfast and then it started raining. We spent most of the day watching Netflix, Filthy Frank and Kim's Convenience. At night, we caught Avengers: End Game in the theatres and

Day 6

Good Morning Banh Mi Xiu Mai (again) - I had three Banh Mis at this place, because it was simply too amazing. We then drove down to a couple of shoe shops then to Me Linh Cafe, which was so so far away. Spending the majority of the day sipping coffee and having cake with a beautiful view, we wanted to leave when it started pouring. So we stayed and just relaxed. Once again, we decided to leave after the rain subsided. However, we realized we kind-of lost the keys to our bike and spent about an hour looking, only to find out they were in the bike the entire time. Geezus. Had dinner, and drove down to Panorama Cafe at night to enjoy the lights.

Day 7

We visited our favorite local supermart (okay, it's the only supermart) - Big C. Spent most of our day indoors (with the worst dinner of our trip) and went to visit Saigon Port Hotel with a little gift for its owner. Part 194201384 of our shopping at the night market then we headed back.

Day 8

We went back to Saigon Port Hotel where the little Mrs. made us her famous Banh Mi Op La. After our gluttony fest, we drove down to Phuoc Thanh Elementary School only to find out that they had half days on Fridays, and that I wouldn't be able to see Hoang. All was good after some kids came back in the afternoon for extra classes, and we played with Kang Kang and Mo Mo. We left after a few hours (and we had previously got caught in a heavy rain), to continue our shopping and glutton spree. Had tea at Da Lat Alaska House and Pho for dinner. It was time to go back to shower and pack up and await for our bus to come pick us up. Back to Saigon we went.

Day 9

My body never adjusts well to the heat that HCM and Singapore radiate. Had Pho for breakfast, and then went over to develop my film and to complete my appointment. Met Ngan and Tan for lunch and spend the rest of the day doing a manicure with her! Then it was time for dinner at a Vegan restaurant before packing up and leaving Vietnam for good.
